SADD-Sponsored Blood Drive this Wednesday, March 29th

It’s that time of year again: the SADD Blood Drive is back at Montrose!  The blood drive is next Wednesday March 25th, and will run from 9am to 3pm.  Please tell your parents, family friends, neighbours, aunts, uncles, and anyone you can get to donate blood!  The requirements to donate blood on Wednesday are listed below:

You must be at least 17 years old, and don’t require any permission slip.

You must be at least 110 pounds.

You must be in good general health and feel well on the day of donation.

Be 72 hours free of antibiotics.

Be 48 hours free of any dental work.

As a result of the restrictions, obviously not all students will be able to donate blood. However, I encourage students to invite a family member to participate. If every Montrose student is able to find someone to donate for them, over 620 people can be saved!  Please contact SADD president Aine Ford or if you have any questions.  If you would like to pre-register for a time to donate blood, please go to Blood Donor.  Thank you in advance for supporting such an important cause!

8th Grade Clothing Drive March 29th to April 6th

From March 23rd to April 6th, the 8th grade will be hosting a school wide clothing drive. Please donate your new or gently used clothes to a great cause! Clothing with rips or stains should not be donated, but men’s, women’s and children’s clothing is welcome! Once the clothing drive is over, all donations will be transported to Saint Vincent De Paul’s Church and distributed to those in need. Over the weekend, please consider going through your closet and finding clothes that you don’t wear anymore and are willing to donate. Donation boxes are located in each grade’s homeroom.
