Although the Varsity Basketball team’s regular season has ended, their competition continues. Coach Julie Ruggieri said: “Our basketball team made the New England Class D tournament. The NEPSAC tournament is made up of all New England Prep Schools, ranging from Class A to E. Classification is based on female enrollment, strength or schedule, and program history. In order to qualify for the NEPSAC tournament, a formula is used to rank teams based on overall record, record within our class, and record against tournament eligible teams.”

Montrose will head into the tournament as the #7 seed, and they’ll be traveling up to Holderness School in New Hampshire tomorrow afternoon at 4:00PM for the quarterfinal game.

Below are the rankings of the Class D teams who made the New England Tournament:

  1. Vermont Academy
  2. Holderness School
  3. MacDuffie School
  4. Dexter Southfield School
  5. Gann Academy
