Breaking news from two of our Montrose Irish Steppers! Emma Schiller ’17 and Colleen McCarthy ’16 traveled to Scotland over the Easter weekend for the World Irish Dance Championships… and their team placed FIRST in the world. They are World champions in the senior girls Ceili competition. This is quite an accomplishment based on the fierce competition and something that is rarely done by a team from the USA. The competition was so tight that Colleen and Emma’s team from Harney Academy won by only two points, beating the favorites from Scotland. The other teams in the top 10 were either from Scotland or Ireland. Congratulations to Emma and Colleen on being world champions!
