The Patriots Without Brady

New England Patriots fans had some concerns about how the team would do without their star quarterback Tom Brady, who was suspended as a result of last season’s controversial Deflategate. Brooke Harrison ‘19 shared her strong views: “Deflategate was last season.  It is unnecessary to bring it into this season.” Math teacher Mrs. White seconded Brooke’s opinion: “I think it’s ridiculous.  I don’t think it should have happened.  It’s unjust.” However, Mrs. White was optimistic about the team, explaining, “They did pretty well over the weekend. I have faith.” Brooke similarly thought that the Patriots would still do well overall, even with Brady’s short-term absence. When asked if she found the Patriots’ win against the Cardinals on Sunday, September 11, surprising, she replied, “Yes.  Especially when they blocked the field goal.” Even Father Dick joined the conversation.  He commented on Brady’s replacement, Jimmy Garoppolo, saying, “He’s likeable.  He’s not a big eagle.”  Although Pats fans are remaining optimistic during Tom Brady’s absence, they will definitely feel more comfortable when he returns.
