Taylor Swift recently announced Taylor’s Version of 1989, out October 27. Swifties from all over are getting pumped up about this album! This is one of Taylor’s favorite albums. She posted: “The 1989 album changed in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce, my version of it will be out October 27. To be perfectly honest, this is my FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 ‘From the The Vault’ tracks are so insane.”
You may be wondering why Taylor is redoing her old albums but adding in the words “Taylor’s Version.” She is re-recording them because this will allow her to own her own masters, her original recordings. She signed a contract when she was 16 with Big Machine Records that they would have the ownership of her first six studio albums. This was heartbreaking to Taylor, who had to go through with the contract.
