Thanksgiving: a holiday that celebrates family and friends. This year, I was curious about how the Montrose population viewed Thanksgiving food. Was it good? Was it overrated? These are the types of questions I asked myself before beginning this process. Many do not celebrate Thanksgiving – and that’s ok! These foods are universal and can be rated without the holiday association. Here are the results of the form:

In all, there were a whopping 86 responses; each answer was more unique than the next! The data shown above is skewed due to the variety of answers which describe specific preferences. However mashed/baked potatoes was the Montrose preference with 24.4%! The runner ups include stuffing (14%), turkey (11.6%), ham (7%) and gravy. I was initially surprised that gravy didn’t score higher, originally thinking it would be the most popular.
Some of my favorite responses from the anonymous questionnaire include:
- “Cranberry sauce”
- “Pumpkin Pie”
- “Mac and cheese without crackers on top”
- “brussel sprouts and bacon”
- “PIE”
- “The sandwich you can make with the leftovers”
- “sweet potatoes with marshmallow”
- “Gravy, Corn, Cornbread, Rolls, Butterscotch Pie!!!!!”
- “sweet potato casserole”
- “cranberries”
- “jalapeno cream corn”
Overall Montrose was torn between a few food items, potatoes barely making the majority. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope we all have a restful break!
