This school year, lots of teachers have helped Montrose to be a better place. To get to know them even more, we interviewed one of the teachers for 6th and 7th grade, Ms. Allienello.
Q: What made you become a teacher?
A: I wanted to become a teacher because when I was in middle school, my principal made a really big impact on my life. We still meet for coffee and dinner. She was a really big part of my life and taught me about my faith.
We think that it’s really cool how Ms. Allienello was inspired from when she was a student to become a teacher. Her teacher also reached out to her which was amazing.
Q: Where did you get your class prayer?
Dear God,
Come be with us today,
Fill our hearts with joy
Fill our minds with learning
And fill our classroom with peace.
Mary undoer of knots,
Pray for us. Amen.
A: It’s a mix of 2 things. I sort of found it online so I changed some of the lines. I added, “Mary undoer of knots,” because she’s someone I pray to when I’m stressed.
Ms. Allienello’s prayer is super unique but special and the grades she teaches love saying it.
Q: Did you have any hobbies as a kid?
A: I played basketball and did dance. I also loved to write as a kid.
Q: What is your favorite subject to teach?
A: I love teaching history, and I think my favorite part would be geography because it lends itself really well to people who love to travel, and I love to travel!
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
A: My favorite holiday is kinda different, it’s Christmas Eve! It’s full of so much anticipation. We get to go to midnight mass. My family has meals and calls it “the 7 fish” because we have 7 different dishes of food.
Ms. Allienello was super fun to interview and get to know. We will continue interviewing more teachers soon to get to know them!
