Another year of Operation Christmas Child was a success! Members of National Honors Society are so grateful for everyone’s participation, and would like to update you on this year’s efforts at Montrose. It is our pleasure to announce that we surpassed our goal of 60 boxes, and were able to collect and assemble enough money and supplies to send 65 boxes for young girls from ages 2 to 14 years old. The boxes each had school supplies, clothes, toy, hair accessories, and hygiene products. Additionally, Montrosians prepared cards to include heart-felt greetings in each box of gifts.

Carmen Bolivar ’17, who is the Junior officer for Service Pillar of NHS says, “I think that overall it was a great success. It was great to have the whole school together really celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. It was a good opportunity to not only think of ourselves and what we want for Christmas but remember that not everyone has what we have and that it is important to think of them during the holidays. Overall it was a great success!”

Mary Glynn ‘17 added:  “We all have busy schedules, especially around the holidays. However, this activity allows us to stop and take the time to have fun as a community and think of those less fortunate than us.”

Montrose’s contributions to Operation Christmas not only brought the school together, but also gave joy to many little girls. Thank you so much for everyone’s efforts, and Merry Christmas to all!
