Get Pumped for Prom

Get+Pumped+for+Prom

As the end of the year moves into final weeks and AP stresses fade, there is one event that never fails to bring laughs and memories for years to come: prom. This year the theme of Montrose Prom is Secret Garden. The prom will be hosted at Needham Country Club from 7 to 11pm on May 21st. The DJ from semi will be making a return, as well as the photo booth from last year’s prom!.

Already girls have been scouting out the best dresses, dates, and hair stylists. For juniors, this event is very much anticipated as this will be the first prom for many. For seniors, the moment is bittersweet as prom, is truly the last class occasion they will attend together before gradution.

Meagan Albertson ‘16 explained: “There really is something so special about being able to get dressed up with all your friends and have a night free from school stress. It’s really so fun spending the night together and having those memories for the rest of your life.”

Here are a few tips for a stress free prom season:

  1. Dress: Pick out your dress WAY in advance. Do not wait until the last minute!.
  2. Date: Go with a date or get a group of friends together. Either way, surround yourself with people who will make your night special.
  3. Hair: If you are going to get your hair done at a salon, make sure to bring in LOTS of pictures of your ideal hairdo. That way you can avoid miscommunications. If you are doing your hair yourself, definitely do a trial-run-through. You don’t want to arrive at the night-of and be upset by how your look turned out.
  4. Dinner: Eat a little something before you go to pictures. There will be dinner at prom, but you don’t want to fill up completely and then feel sick when you’re breaking out your moves on the dance floor.
  5. Fun: This one may seem a little basic, but remember to have fun. Prom is such a special night where you are surrounded by awesome people. Enjoy yourself and live in the moment because I promise you’ll have these memories forever.
