On Saturday, March 25, the Montrose Parent Guild invited all Montrose families to the Warrior Ice Arena for an open skate free of charge. The Warrior Arena is a “state of the art ice hockey destination.” It is used part time as a practice arena for the Boston Bruins, Boston’s six time Stanley Cup champion hockey team. It is also used part time as a space for entertaining or public admission. It contains seating for 660 people and hosts high school, collage, youth and amature hockey games. The Warrior Ice Arena is part of Boston Landing, which is a “dynamic new neighborhood for businesses, families and shoppers pursuing active lives.

The event began at 6:00PM and concluded at 8. The night offered Montrose students and their families an opportunity to bond and spend time together outside of school. One sixth grader said, “It was a really fun night to bond with my classmates.” Another member of the class of 2023 added, “It was a great time to interact with friends and family and just have fun.” Junior Yvonne Niebuhr ‘18 agreed, saying, “It was a lot of fun to get together outside of school, and I really enjoyed it.”

Sophia Sardegna ‘18 and Anna Noon ‘19 along with their families organized the event. Sophie said “I was a great night full of laughs that my family along with the Noons were proud to host.”

It seemed as if Montrosians have come to the conclusion that the skate night at the Warrior Ice Arena was an enjoyable night to remember!  Much thanks to the Sardegna and Noon families for organizing and hosting this event!
