Welcoming the Looking Glass News Program
This year, we have a new addition and section to the Montrose Looking Glass Newspaper: The Looking Glass News program! When you hear that, you may be confused, as the Looking Glass is a news program. But this news program is a little different, and very exciting for Montrose history.
The Looking Glass news program hopes to convert the newspaper you know and love into a watchable broadcast, like one you might see on TV. There will be a main host, who summarizes all the news pieces and ties them together, as well as anchors for each section of the newspaper, who will specifically talk about what is happening in their section.
One cool thing about this broadcast is that it is super flexible. While you may be seeing an interview one episode, the next episode there could be live footage from school activities and events. Or maybe there could be both in one episode! The Broadcast will be a quick way to catch up on Montrose news, especially if you feel like you don’t have enough time to read all the articles on The Looking Glass website. But you will still want to read all the articles and watching the broadcasts will help you become intrigued.
Emma Barry ‘22, whose creativity sparked the production of this program, hopes to launch it in the new year. If you would like to join the team that writes, films, and edits the show, let Emma know your interest! We are looking forward to making a great broadcast for all of you — coming soon to Montrose for the very first time!
