Middle School Community Day, which was held on September 8th, was a fun and exciting day for 6th-8th graders! While the upper schoolers were on field trips, we middle schoolers enjoyed a fun filled day of games, crafts, and pizza.
We started off the day with a scavenger hunt across the school building, which was definitely a highlight. We explored the whole school searching for different items, while participating in various challenges. Finally, our time was up and we went to our next activity.
It was exhausting to run around, so making friendship bracelets was very relaxing. Each grade had their own special bead to use for their bracelets: the 6th grade got to use roses, 7th graders used heart beads, and 8th graders had magic 8 balls. Everyone made two bracelets, one for trading, and one for keeping.
After that was done, we went to the A&A to play some games. Then, we headed to the cafeteria to have pizza and watermelon for lunch. It was delicious!
Once everyone had finished eating, we all went into the M&M to be placed in our cross-grade groups. Each group had some 6th graders, 7th graders, and 8th graders. These groups were great for meeting new people in other grades! Each group went to the cafeteria to decorate popsicle sticks for each other, and then we played some more fun games with our teams in the A&A. After that, we went back into the M&M to play team-building games, like working together to stack cups using only string and rubber bands. At the end of the day, we enjoyed some popsicles in the cafeteria, and traded the bracelets we had made earlier.
Overall, this was a great day to play games, do crafts, have fun, and make new friends!
