After a long day at school when you are ready to get a bite to eat or a drink to enjoy, where do you head first? Do you go to Dunkin’ or Starbucks? Having to choose between the two is hard! There are lots of pros and cons of each to take into consideration.
Lily Crowley ‘30 states that “Starbucks is like heaven on earth!” Starbucks does have many drink options! Their refreshers taste amazing, especially the famous Pink drink. The refreshers at Starbucks go above and beyond with ingredients of lemonade and dried fruit. Also, the Starbucks lattes and cappuccinos tend to be bolder in flavor than Dunkin’s coffee drinks. Starbucks in general has a bigger variety of specialty flavored drinks and they stay true to their flavor. If you want a regular iced coffee or a simple cold brew Dunkin’ is a good choice. However, if you like more different or specialty flavors such as pumpkin, strawberry, or chai then Starbucks is your best bet.
Dunkin’ is my absolute favorite place to go to get a bite to eat on the go! There truly is something for everyone especially with great bakery options and delicious breakfast choices. My top order when I go to Dunkin’ is the Bagel twist which is bagel bread twisted with cheese on top, warmed up. I also must admit that the Dunkin’ bagels are out of this world! I don’t know how they make them but whatever their secret is I want to find out! Dunkin’ has a reputation for having great food options while Starbucks also has pretty good food but is too expensive. The Starbucks food options are fine but I think that Dunkin’ is superior to Starbucks in terms of food.
As for the prices, Dunkin is definitely cheaper and much more affordable if you’re on a tight budget. For example, at Dunkin’ you can get a donut for $1.69 which is less than a $3.75 Starbucks cake pop that you could finish much quicker. They even charge extra if you want light ice in your drink! Starbucks is widely known for being expensive because of their quality ingredients and premium beverage options. However, (at least from the many times I’ve been there) Starbucks has fairly good service and it was always a nice place to sit down and relax at. They have a comfortable atmosphere with soft lighting and cozy corners making it also easy to work at.
Starbucks has a very extensive menu, however, Dunkin’ is much cheaper. It was a hard decision to make but in my personal opinion Starbucks is better! I love the wide variety of drinks they have to offer and the chill vibe of the Starbucks environment!
