Varsity Field Hockey Starts Season With a Bang
The Montrose Varsity Field Hockey team has started this year off on a great note. With 7 new players this year, the team played our past two games with full energy and intensity. Field hockey has come a long way since pre-season, and the team is extremely grateful to their new coach, Mrs. Bettinelli. The constant cheering and positive attitudes are hard to miss on and off the field.
Team unity is a very important factor to their success, and it is encouraged by captains, Alex Condrin ‘18, and Molly Bowman ‘18. As Alex describes, “The amount of hard work and dedication given by both the players and coaches is truly inspirational.” The team is very excited to see how the rest of the season goes as they continue to work hard and learn from their mistakes.
The amount of hard work and dedication given by both the players and coaches is truly inspirational. Everyone on the team is so positive; it is beautiful to hear the loud cheers and words of encouragement given to one another. Even when players are tired, or a play doesn’t go as planned, they do not let that get the best of them. The team learns from mistakes, so they can flourish the next time the ball is passed their way. The varsity field hockey team should be so proud of all of their achievements, and how far they have come since tryouts. The Montrose community is so excited to see what the rest of this season brings!
