This Week in the NFL: Week 14

Former NFL Player Demaryius Thomas Found Dead in His Home at Age 33

Demaryius Thomas played in the National Football League for around ten years, playing for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, New England Patriots, and New York Jets, but was best known for his time on the Broncos. In 2010, he was a first-round NFL draft pick, playing for Georgia Tech. He was just thirty-three years old when he was found dead in his home in Roswell, Georgia, on December 9th. As of now, it is unknown how he died, but it is known that he had been suffering from seizures for over a year, so a seizure may have been the cause of death. No one knows exactly what time it was when he passed away. His friend was unable to reach him, so he called Thomas’ driver, who had a key to the house. The driver found Thomas unresponsive in the shower, where police pronounced him dead soon after.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Barely Beat the Buffalo Bills in Overtime

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers squared off against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 4:25, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. From the start, the Buccaneers dominated on both offense and defense. Going into halftime, the score was 24-3, in favor of the Buccaneers. However, during the second half, the Bills came roaring back, and dominated for the rest of the game, outscoring the Buccaneers 24-3. By the end of regulation, the score was tied 27-27, meaning that the game would go into overtime, which for the NFL, is one quarter of ten minutes, with the first team to score a touchdown, or a field goal after both teams have had a chance on offense, being the winner. The Bills won the coin toss, and of course, chose to receive possession of the ball. However, this didn’t matter, because when the Buccaneers got to go on offense, they scored a game winning touchdown with a pass to receiver Breshad Perriman.
