There are so many fun and delicious recipes around the Christmas season to spread the holiday cheer from cakes to turkey to chocolate. One of my favorite Christmas recipes is Green peppermint chip cookies. They are really easy to make, and the cookies are regular chocolate chip cookies, but with 1 ½ teaspoons of peppermint extract and some green food dye. This recipe is adapted from Very Best Baking.
Ingredients:
- 2 ¼ cup of all purpose flour
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- ¾ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1 ½ teaspoons of peppermint extract
- Green food coloring
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup (2 sticks of butter)
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract in a large mixer until creamy. Add eggs one at a time until well blended. Then slowly add your flour mixture. Now add the green food coloring until combined, and slowly fold in your chocolate chips. Scoop evenly onto a greased sheet pan.
- Bake for 9-12 or until golden brown, then cool on the pan for two minutes, and then a wire rack until they are cool.
- Lastly, eat and enjoy with family and friends!
