Humbled by the Words of Your Book

There was a silence that came with reading, a peace.

There was a silence that came with reading, a peace.

There you sat, staring at the emptiness before you, humbled by the words of your book. There was a silence that came with reading, a peace. Images the book gave you are still fresh in your head. The words seem so powerful compared to who sat there and read them. And the words weigh on you. All the while you sit there, motionless, trying to figure out why it had to happen when it wasn’t even real. You are not sad, but you feel sorrowful. You are not hurt, but you feel pain. Then a wave, so huge it takes you aback, hits you. A wave of content in a way you could not get before. And you sit there, humbled by the words of your book.
