This year, the sixth grade collaborated with Theo’s Flowers for our service project. Theo’s Flowers is an organization that provides donated flowers which can be made into beautiful arrangements. These arrangements can make a difference in the lives of the elderly living with dementia or memory disorders because the flowers make them smile and brighten their day. Theo’s Flowers is a new organization and no one knew what to expect. In the end, this project was tremendously enjoyed and didn’t feel like work. Everyone had a great time and it was so easy to carry out. We all felt glad to contribute to such a special project that brought so much joy to others. We also enjoyed delivering the arrangements to the Thomas Upham House because we got to see the reaction of the residents. The sixth grade students felt so lucky and blessed to have contributed to such a special service project that brought us together and brought joy to others.
