Elizabeth Barrette ’29 and Grace Lynch ’29 after their game against St. Catherine School

The Montrose JV soccer team has gotten off to a strong start this year.  With a mix of experienced and new players, the team has enjoyed success on the field while having fun.

Led by Coaches Davis and O’Malley, the team is off to a 1-2 start. In our first game against Ursuline Academy, Montrose stood strong but unfortunately lost 7-2. Our two goals were scored by seventh grader Lucy Tierney. In our next game, against Boston Trinity Academy, Montrose played a great game and took home a whopping 11-0 win! Some goal scorers in this game were Nika Presayzen ’27 and Bria Santoro ’29.

Finally, in our most recent game against Lexington Christian Academy, the final score was 5-2. Our goal scorer in this game was Bria Santoro ’29. This was a great, challenging match for Montrose, and we are not mad about the final score!

Here are some thoughts from some players on the team:

Bells Kelly ’27 said, “The games are super fun and I think we work pretty well together.”

Elizabeth Barrette ’29 commented, “We have been working hard and the score of the game keeps getting better and better. Our team has amazing spirit and is never dull! GO MAVS!!”

Charlotte Keefe ’29 added, “I love JV soccer because there is a variety of ages and abilities.”

The JV soccer team has some important games coming up, and we are looking forward to winning and having fun!
