Christmas is widely known for Santa, gingerbread houses, decorations, etc. However sometimes we forget what Christmas is truly all about. To remember why we celebrate Christmas and get into the right mindset, Montrose once again held Lessons and Carols.
Lessons and Carols is a joyful night filled with readings and sacred Christmas music. At Lessons and Carols, we are able to reflect on Christmas and pause from the hectic season. It brings everyone together in a beautiful way. We also got to showcase what we learned in our music classes which was very exciting!
This year the night began with everyone walking down the aisle to their seats with candles singing “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”. It was a beautiful way to start out the evening. Then, each class went up to sing their pieces. In between music there were scripture readings. There was a wide variety of performances including acapella, tone chimes, and handbells. At the end of Lessons and Carols everyone sang “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”
The night would not have been successful without the faculty who helped out! A special thanks to Mrs. Rios who did an amazing job conducting the show. Lessons and Carols was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
