Your favorite childhood sweetheart is married!!! On Saturday, Sept. 27, actress and singer Selena Gomez married Benny Blanco. The couple announced their marriage with Instagram posts on their pages. The couple had their ceremony in Santa Barbara, California with a star-studded guest list of around 170 people including Taylor Swift, Paul Rudd, Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, Ashley Park, Paris Hilton, Ed Sheeran and Selena’s Wizards of Waverly Place co-star David Henry.

Selena wore a collection of three custom-made Ralph Lauren dresses to mark the occasion. The first dress – worn for the ceremony – was a beautiful halter neck, silk, floor-length wedding dress with gorgeous intricate embroidery and detailing including 300 lace flowers. The dress took 200 hours to make, and it was personally my favorite dress of the event. The second dress – worn after the vows – was another floor-length halter dress, this one made of sheer lace, had crystal detailing, a hand painted corset, and, once again, had 300 hand-applied lace flowers. This dress also had a cute extra detail for the special day: hidden in the dress were the letters S+B stitched into the fabric along with the wedding date. While this dress was not my particular cup of tea, the detailing was gorgeous and, of course, Selena looked absolutely stunning. The third dress – worn for the reception – was an adorable vintage number, with off-the-shoulder straps and a flared waist. All together, Selena’s dresses were gorgeous and fit her perfectly.
While Selena had many of the common wedding occurrences, some parts of her wedding she chose to do differently. One example is who walked her down the aisle; instead of her father walking her down the aisle, she had her grandfather walk her down the aisle. One of the reasons was because her father didn’t get the opportunity to walk her mother down the aisle as her mother eloped. She also decided to not have a first dance, as she didn’t like the attention of a first dance. Her husband Benny described her as too shy. Also, instead of a large wedding cake, she and Benny had a single tier-heart shaped wedding cake just for them. Instead of a dinner, the couple had an elaborate ice cream bar.
Overall, Selena and Benny’s wedding was a huge success. The photos are beautiful, and I personally can’t wait to follow what this couple will do in the future!
