12 Days of Cookie Christmas: Day 8 – Rolo Pretzel Treats

As my husband and children can tell you, I am no baker. The first year of our marriage I made a birthday cake for my husband who remarked offhandedly that it looked like London’s Millennium Dome. If you’re not familiar with the said structure, I can tell you his observation was no compliment. After we had children, I baked once a year, during the holidays, because baking Christmas cookies seemed like a thing a good mother did. Like changing diapers. So here is a holiday recipe for all those who enjoy baking (and the clean-up) as much as I do. It is ridiculously simple, messy-free, and always a winner with the younger set. Here’s to baking made easy!

Ingredients:

7.8-ounce bag of Rolo chocolates, unwrapped (bag contains approximately 35 pieces)

12-ounce bag of Snyder’s Snaps (pretzel squares)

10-ounce bag of milk chocolate red and green M&M’s

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a cookie sheet, lay 35 pretzels and place an unwrapped Rolo on each.
  2.  Bake in the oven for 3 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately and gently press one M&M into the divet of each Rolo.
  3. Cool in the refrigerator.
  4. Enjoy!
