Midweek Report: Cross-Country Faces 20 Teams & Volleyball Meets CHCH for a Second Round

The Montrose Mavericks displayed their tremendous perseverance once again as they ran in their second invitational race of their 2016 season. After driving about two hours to get to Marianapolis Preparatory School in Connecticut, the girls didn’t allow their long bus ride to stop them from running their best. Ciara Young ‘18 placed 4th, Mary Dyke ‘20 placed 10th, and Hannah Marino ‘18 placed 11th. Many of the runners ran their personal best time.

Overall, Montrose placed second out of twenty different cross country teams. The Mavericks earned a praiseworthy trophy that can be found in the trophy case.

That same day, the Montrose Volleyball team played at Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall and it was the second time the Mavericks played against CHCH during their season. All three sets were 25-15 CHCH. The team’s next game is Tuesday, October 4. Keep up the great work, Mavericks!
