On Friday, September 18th, the Montrose varsity soccer team faced Lexington Christian Academy for their Homecoming game. This was an important match, as LCA is an out-of-league team, and securing a win would increase the team’s chances of making NEPSAC. After the exciting pep rally and blessing of the fields, as well as team warmups, the game began. The atmosphere was amazing, and rows of excited fans spread out along the sideline of the field. Montrose quickly scored the first goal, and from there the team had impressive success. Five great goals were scored from a wide variety of players, including Bria Santoro, Libby Hamel, and Audri Travers. Additionally, the team created several other great chances and shut down LCA from scoring at all. Montrose was very proud of this win and is looking forward to Homecoming next year!
