Catherine Conroy ‘16 was selected from the highly competitive IGC as a NEPSAC All-Star and invited to compete in the All- Star game on Sunday, March 2nd. The Looking Glass took a trip to the Court-Conroy to get the ins and outs of all the baskets and rebounds.
“Each team had 15 players,” explained Catherine. The thirty girls invited by NEPSAC were split into groups by school location: Eastern New England and Western New England. Catherine was on the same team with some former Maverick competitors, as there were four other girls from the IGC. Conroy said, “they’re great players and equally as great people.” She added, “I enjoyed being on the same team with former competitors.”
A standout Montrose player, Catherine had another great game in the All-Star game. She told the Looking Glass that she scored “four points, had a couple of steals, and had a breakaway.” Although, Catherine called it an “honor to be selected,” Conroy admitted the ‘the highlight of [her] basketball season was winning the IGC title in front of 150+ Montrosians.”
I think we can all agree that win was special for the team AND it was their third title win in four years! Overall, said Conroy, it was a “memorable and fulfilling season.”
