Megan Cloherty #18:
Megan Cloherty is one of three captains on the varsity softball team, and she is our main and starting pitcher. Megan is such a fun and inspiring person to be around, whether you need softball tips or just someone to laugh with. We are going to miss joking around with Megan during practice, especially on the field. Our favorite memory of Megan from this year was during her last senior at bat against CCA, when the entire softball team went crazy on the bench when she hit a triple. It was a very nice moment to show the camaraderie of the team with Meg as one of our captains. It is always terrifying but impressive to see Meg stare down a batter (looking like the terminator) and then continue to throw a 65 mile per hour strike. Next year, Megan will be headed to Hamilton College.
Chloe Munroe #4:
Chloe Munroe is another one of our captains and is usually at second base or in the outfield. We can always count on Chloe to catch any pop fly that comes her way and get the out. She is always there to encourage and cheer people on no matter if we are winning or losing. Our favorite memory of Chloe was at the first game against CCA when she slid into home plate but ended up doing a flip instead! Another memory of Chloe is when she caught three pop flies in a row, ending the inning in less than five minutes. We will miss Chloe’s enthusiasm and dedication to the game! Next year, Chloe will be headed to The University of New Hampshire.
Katherine Goggin #3:
Katherine Goggin is our captain as well and is usually playing first base. Katherine is an amazing first baseman and can always catch the throws no matter how crazy they are. One favorite team memory is the fact that Katherine can always be found in the dirt from any catch, whether it was on purpose for a dive or on accident. We love her commitment to the team and the game. KG is always funny without even trying and adds so much to our team. Next year, Katherine will be headed to Sacred Heart University, where she will compete with the Equestrian team.
Tess Kurina #21:
Tess Kurina can usually be found in the outfield and is one of our best hitters, even if she refuses to use a different bat because hers is dead. She makes the team fun and enjoyable, and we are going to miss joking around with her. We will also miss joking about what pose or dance she will hit when she gets to first base. Our favorite memory of Tess is when she decided to play hacky sack with a group of younger boys at team bonding. She went out confidently and dropped it every time. Lastly, she is great at running especially to second base after Gigi bunts it! Next year, Tess will be headed to Assumption University.
