Admitted Students Night proved to be a huge success this year and was filled with good conversation, games, and a lovely setup. Admitted Students Night, following my own admission into Montrose, was one of my favorite activities last year. The evening made me feel welcomed into a warm community and excited for my future at Montrose. A special thank you to Mr. Gleason, Mr. Rose, Mr. Baker, and the whole facilities team for working so hard to make sure this night was a success. So much work goes into Admitted Students Night, which is always a huge event to look forward to.
The night began with introductions and pictures of the admitted students with their family, in front of the Montrose backdrop. Each girl received a rose which marks a milestone in their journey at Montrose. I was excited to witness and be part of the admitted students receiving their first rose. Megan Cloherty ’26 and Lucy Elliffe ‘26 were the MC’s for the night. They did a fantastic job of leading the event and directing the attendees. We began with a prayer and then enjoyed a pasta dinner together.
A special shout out to the upper school students who volunteered at the event. They made our guests feel comfortable and welcomed. Speeches were presented by Rosemary Lee, Elizabeth Barrette, and Sanya Nadeem, who discussed their experiences at Montrose School. The families were also welcomed by faculty members, who talked to them about what daily life as a Montrose student would look like and any questions they had.
Next up, the students participated in some special Montrose icebreakers. The evening ended with ice cream in the Student Commons. As the students entered the M&M, they were greeted by cheers from a tunnel of current Montrose students. The cheer line is always a special part of the night and one of my favorite memories. I realized that Montrose embraces its students wholeheartedly into a challenging and happy school full of sisters who will feel the same as I do, after spending time here!
